A Place to Generate Success

Student success-centered departments will soon have a new, conveniently located and collaboration-friendly home in the space previously occupied by the UVSC library. Known as The Center for Student Success, this area will bring similar departments to a common geographic location and provide student-friendly access to frequently used services and departments. The Center will also enhance department collaboration and increase professional relationships and liaisons.

Among the many departments to be included in The Center for Student Success are College Success Studies, Career and Academic Counseling, Career Services and Student Employment, Prospective Student Services, Accommodative Services, and the Center for the Advancement of Leadership. A large Student Commons area will also be included, providing a space for students to study and connect with faculty and peers. The Center will also boast a hosting room, new dining area (similar to the LA Café), new and more accessible elevator, and a large corridor connecting to the Computer Science building.

Design and Program Development teams have been working for several months on the unique design planned for The Center for Student Success. The areas currently occupied by the Student Success departments will be used for the expansion of other campus departments and services.
